4th meeting of the NGO Forum for Quality in Prevention

On Wednesday, 29 January 2014, the 4th meeting of the NGO Forum for Quality in Prevention on the topic of comprehensive regulation in the field of addiction prevention took place at the Lev Hotel in Ljubljana as part of the "Prevention Platform" project. The participants were presented with a proposal for a "law on addiction prevention" by Matej Košir from the Utrip Institute and Ciril Klajnšček from the Slovenian Red Cross, who is also the author of the proposal.

A number of outstanding issues were discussed, and it was agreed that the new law should take more account of the role of NGOs, which also means more extensive involvement of NGOs in the inter-ministerial and multidisciplinary commission to be set up by the government in the field of addiction prevention.

On the basis of the constructive suggestions made by the participants, we have prepared a new version of the proposal, which will be sent to the representatives of the relevant ministries in the next few days.
