The European project 'Club Health - Healthy and safer nightlife for young people'(www.club-health.eu), co-funded by the European Commission, will organise its first major event in the coming days. The thematic conference on 'The impact of the media on young people's nightlife' will take place on 13-14 October 2010 in Brussels (Belgium). The conference, which will take place during the Belgian EU Presidency, is organised by the Hogeschool Ghent (University College Ghent) from Belgium, one of the key partner organisations of the European Club Health project. The conference programme and the most important additional information can be found in the attached flyer(Club Health Brussels.pdf), and we will keep you updated with any news and updates on the programme on the Club Health project's website. You can register for the conference at http://soag.hogent.be/dbsoag/soagevents/clubhealth/inschrijven.asp, which will also automatically provide you with all other relevant information regarding your participation in the conference.
The conference will discuss the latest media trends in relation to nightlife and risky behaviour among young people. The conference aims to highlight the important role of the media in helping to shape healthy lifestyles and promote healthy and safer nightlife for young people. In particular, we want to discuss this topic with media representatives and develop appropriate guidelines and recommendations to help us promote appropriate media policies in the future and highlight the potential negative impact of the media on young people. The conference will bring together top experts and researchers in the field of media and youth risk behaviour from all over the world, as well as representatives of the various media.
